So it's not Mammoth Lakes. These are the prairies but this ridge along the Cannon provides remarkably good skiing. Short runs but many of them and all provide a different challenge. The lodge it fine, the staff welcoming, and the skiing is fine -- even for someone who has enjoyed many fine ski areas in the mountains of the West... More

Great place for kids, beginners and advanced skiers and snowboarders. There is no comparison to out west skiing since Minnesota doesn't have mountains! For Minnesota this is great! We love it. We feel comfortable going to Steamboat Springs, CO after skiing at Welch but we are not comparing them.

Best hills in TC area, best ski school and very good food in cafeteria. A number of years ago Welch Village greatly increased its snowmaking capability. They have consistently good snow.

I grew up skiing at Welch Village and this was my first time skiing at Welch in quite a few years. I was pleased with the additional lifts that have been installed, new runs that have been cut (especially the back bowl that opened up more black diamond runs), and facility improvements made at the main lodge. My sons and... More

It was a frigid day, but the staff were great. First time skiing for my 11-yr old daughter. The learning staff were great! Everyone from getting her set up with rentals to her instructor (LauraLee?). Also the rental staff were great and very helpful getting my wife and myself set up.

I took my son to Welch Village yesterday, it was our first trip. We wondered if Presidents day would be busy and it was. Our biggest complaint was that we rented gear and they were out of ski poles. Now if they were really busy and all of the skis were rented I could understand this, however only about a... More

I'm 56 and took beginner lessons at Welsch (yes, new girlfriend). I signed up for the 3 weekend lessons but it was 1 degree the first Saturday and less than that the next so I didn't go. To help catch up I took a Learn It lesson on a Thursaday night, since no one else showed up I had a... More

Great day on the hills to get ready for Colorado trip. Drove in from Wisconsin. Backbowls still had nice fresh deep powder(6 days after snowfall) to prepare us for Colorado. Lifts comfortable and fast, good variety of hills considering in Midwest. Employees were all friendly, lots of smiles, snowboard instructor Tim did a great job with my intermediate boarders, great...
