Beautiful hiking trail, but more prairie than woods so it got hot even when it was only 70 degrees. Lots of ticks--we must have pulled 15 off of us plus at least that many off the dog! There were many options for routes, so take...More

There is a great sledding hill and provides a lot of fun and winter exercise. Be sure to be careful. I have personally gotten pretty injured on this hill.

We love Shingnobee for their x-country trails. They're nicely groomed and absolutely beautiful. The trails are at all levels of difficulty and are clearly marked. It seems to be a hidden gem because all the times I've ever been there, there were hardly any people....More

We drove along Shingobee Island road. It is a very beautiful area. Stopped at an access area just before getting back on the highway and took a couple of pictures. If you time, just take a leisurely ride through here if nothing else.

There is something really magical about this scenic area. We love the view. I have snowshoed here and the trails are excellent and scenic. Awesome place.

The Shingobee Rec Area is absolutely beautiful, and for the best sledding in the entire area, check out Shingobee Hill, between Walker and Park Rapids on Highway 34. It rivals ski hills for vertical drop, so get your nerve up before pushing off the top...More

We love Shingobee Hills, a popular recreation area within the Chippewa National Forest. Eight miles of looping trail, great for hiking and cross-country skiing. (Non-motorized site) The trails also tie in with the North Country National Scenic Trail that travels 62-miles across the southern end...More
