I went off season, and considering when I got there my car was the only one in the lot, was a good choice. This park is set up to receive a lot of people. As a state park it requires an admission. There is a...More

We camped at the Split Rock Lighthouse campgrounds for a couple of nights in early Sept. The campgrounds are VERY impressive. These sites book up months in advance, but we got lucky on a cancellation. We stayed in site #2, which is close to the...More

Even on one of the busiest weekends of the year, the park offered quiet places to both hike or just stroll along Lake Superior. And amazing views from a couple lookouts requiring some uphill efforts. Great camping and picnic areas.

Wow! Loved the location, loved the history. Don't miss the walk down the tram trail. The look back up is historic.

We toured the lighthouse and then camped at hike-in site 3 this past weekend. The site is right on Lake Superior. The kids loved throwing rocks for hours on end and we enjoyed the sound of crashing waves throughout our stay.

Breath taking views! We didn't take the tour due to time, but it would be worth it.. only 20 minutes. The hike is a little strenuous. Probably a 2.5. I could just sit and listen to the waves all day. Good gift shop too!

You would need a State Park permit to go hiking in the park. Daily permits are $5 per vehicle.
