The Bird Park is a small park set in a natural Cotswold Valley so there are "hills" as detailed on our web page. There is a stunning new visitor centre where you can buy light refreshments, toys, gifts and wonderful views of the park from extensive balconies. Courses, lectures and events are held here. The park's ideal for families with toddlers as it's not too large and the birds are "free", they are friendly and will come up to you if you are afraid of birds then this is not the place for you as, the birds are free inquisitive and feed from your hand as do the fallow deer and pygmy goats and the miniature donkeys are there in the summer months. There's a huge collection of peafowl, pheasant and a comprehensive collection of waterfowl from around the world, these are not your common or garden ducks. There are follies for the children to play in especially the Wendy House where you will always find toys inside for the children to play with. Bird Food can be purchased on arrival, which is great fun. Again fi you are afraid of birds then perhaps this is not the park for you. In the summer the Kookaburras are flown at noon, subject to weather. This is a casual and very natural park where you can get close to the birds and animals, with lakes, walking and a true outside feel to it so if your looking for an Alton Towers or a Lego Land attraction then again we are not for you. Yes the birds are free, yes there are hills, yes there are gates and yes it is natural. If you want to get out and be with nature then we will look forward to seeing you and you will love the park.

This is one of the most enjoyable hours we spent on our getaway break. However be fully aware that unless you like being up close and personal with the avain inhabitants you may find it intimidating. The pigeons, geese and even the peacocks all come to be fed, and may even hassle if you have food at hand. For us... More

Its quite tricky finding something that works for everyone between the aage of 20 months and 80 years, but this worked well. Lots of birds, they do pester you at the start but is calmer as you get away from the gate. Feeding the deer was really good confidence booster to my daughter in terms of contact with animals. Plenty... More

This is an excellent day out - not to be missed if you're staying in the local area. This is a beautiful place with lots of gorgeous birds to feed - most of which will feed straight out of the palm of your hand. We got there as it opened and were the first in, and the lady on the... More

I've been here a few times now and will always go back! Great trip with little ones in tow as they can interact with the animals and birds around the park! Nice weather is best, but if you wrap up warm I'd say this is ok even in colder weather! I'll be back again... I definitely recommend this place!

We visited the Prinknash Bird and Deer Park with our little Granddaughter who was 2. I was very surprised to find they charged us £7.50 for such a small person. The birds were very colourful and wondered freely. They came as soon as you got the bird feed out of bag to be fed, then the following you around. We... More

Our daughter was a Guide camp nearby, so before picking her up we thought let’s make a day of it and visit somewhere on route. There is a large car park which appears to be shared with an auction house and the nearby monastery. Then it is a short steepish walk down to the entrance to the Bird Park. The... More

The whole place has a neglected feel to it, but there are plenty of birds, deer and goats to feed. Good for small children but hard to see how the prices are justified.

Visited here last Mothering Sunday with my Daughter, grandchildren and Husband. We took a picnic and had an excellent time. Plenty of animals and birds for all to see and the children loved the reindeer!! We finished off the trip by having ice cream in the great little cafe and bought some lovely gifts from the shop. Well worth a... More

We came to see Santa, and the kids got to meet a Fairy Princess in a caravan, see Santa, pet reindeer, feed deer and birds by hand. And the gift shop had really tasteful and lovely gifts and souvenirs. I bought two beautiful ornaments for our Christmas tree.
