One of the best bike trails in the Twin Cities. Head out to Stillwater, or take a smaller round trip - not too hilly and the scenery is amazing.!

If you like to get outdoors and just walk, jog or bike, the Gateway Trail is an excellent choice for these activities! Being an old railway line that's been paved over, it is relatively level. I've used this trail numerous times and always enjoy the feeling of being out in the woods, even though much of it goes through the... More

I am so thankful that our State puts a priority on bike trails. This one is one of the best in the twin cities. The nice thing is that you are in the country but not far from nice restaurants an sites to explore.

This trail is paved and extends all the way from St. Paul to Stillwater. It can be crowded on nice weekends in the Summer. The trail has bridges that cross most major highways and is scenic once you get out of the urban areas. There is a separate trail for horses which is parallel past the Oakdale area.

A great paved trail in the city that takes you through many protected nature areas I like to start at Keller Regional Park in Maplewood. There are modern bathrooms to get ready for your ride. It is 15.3 miles to Pine Point Park which has water fountains and modern bathrooms. Try stopping at the Gateway Trail Side. This is a... More

Pleasant and well-kept. Very popular with bikers and saw some people on horseback, too! We walked from Jamaca road to Lansing road, with a lovely break at Trail Side cafe. The trail was mostly flat and the water along the way is all private property. Also, the only restrooms are port-a-pots. Maybe next time we will try the adjoining trail... More

The Gateway Trail begins in St. Paul and ends near Stillwater, MN at Pine Point. The first half of the trail winds its way through a couple of suburban communities. The second half of the trail has a more rural feel to it with a mix of small farms, large open areas, ponds and woods. For the most part, it's... More
