My daughter and husband went to visit. They were told to come back another day, which they did. For somewhere that advertises all are welcomed, my 13 year old noted it didn't feel very welcoming. Way to go! ,

We arrived just before the tours were ending for the afternoon, but were greeted warmly by the receptionist. She arranged for Sister Maguerite to take us on a short(45 mins.) tour of part of the Spirituality Center. She was a wonderful and interesting guide, telling us history of the beautiful building, past happenings, traditions that are celebrated there and answering... More

We saw the ad in the Rochester mag about Honey for sale. We went to the gift shop and purchased 2 different types of Honey and had a nice visit with the checkout Sister. She gave us some very informative details and history of the buildings and grounds.

We learned the role the Catholic Sisters with the first Mayo doctors to establish St. Mary's Hospital and the now Mayo Clinic. Very interesting history and beautiful site. It is well worth a visit.

I was there for a musical concert, followed by a meal with the Sisters. Assisi Heights was for many years home to Sisters exclusively. They were self sufficient with gardens for vegetables, orchards for fruits and enclosures for some animals. Now with fewer Sisters in residence and enormous costs to maintain such a big complex Mayo has taken over this huge... More

I always wanted to tour Assisi Heights and was not disappointed. This is an absolutely gorgeous place. It was interesting to see the history of Assisi Heights and to hear the stories as well. The tour didn't take long, but was very interesting. Beautiful architecture and peaceful grounds.

Building not open to public on Sunday (religious residence, day of rest), but the grounds are lovely to wander around. We were with friends who live in the area and this place was recommended to us.

You need to check in at the reception and get your bedges (for interior or exterior). Nice chapel inside the building. I am not sure if you can visit other parts of the building too. the yard is very large. Part of it with small woods with dears, turkeys, squirls and foxes. An well preserved vegetable garden and some nice... More
