If cemeteries fascinate you like they do me, then treat yourself to a visit to Lakewood Cemetery. I grew up in Richfield and recently went back for a high school reunion. I decided to visit Lakewood to find a childhood friend entombed there. I spent a long time driving around - the place is huge! and it was time well... More

Lakewood Cemetery is one of the finest parks in the twin cities and offers many opportunities for visitors to admire the plants, landscaping, statues, and structures to memorialize the founders, politicians, business moguls, celebrities, and sports legends of the twin cities. The Memorial Chapel is awe-inspiring (the interior is 10 million pieces of hand-laid Italian mosaic tile) and open for... More

Gorgeous cemetary even if you are not visiting to find relatives. They have a very serene section that has a reflective pool with modern buildings next to it that are very architectural to walk through just for their own sake and photographers were doing a session while we were visiting. The staff at the main office was very helpful in... More

Lakewood is a treasure within the city limits by Lake Calhoun. If you have an afternoon to spend just walking around the beautiful memorials, you will likely find many famous people are laid there to rest. The Chapel is spectacular and a must see if you do go to Lakewood.

No way to talk to anyone. Only a kiosk for locating a gravesite and the computer was not working. A map on the wall of the kiosk area was so high, I couldn't see section 20 where Find-A-Grave.com said the grave was located. Spent about 1 hour and then finally found the grave after walking the entire time, up and... More

I discovered this cemetery while researching family history. The staff on hand to assist were helpful and the actual grounds were stunningly beautiful and well-kept.

this cemetery is really big and beautiful. the modern mausoleum is surprisingly beautiful. H.H.H. is there - its nice to pay homage to him. there are some interesting tombs and gravestones but the cemetery ( and the city ) isn't very old so its not as much fun walking around and trying to garner much history from the inscriptions
