Fantastic theater!! The architecture is absolutely stunning!! Depending on the show you're seeing I would recommend not sitting in the front row. Second or third row of the main floor would be absolutely perfect.

We attended an R5 concert here and the experience was great. Even though the venue is historic in nature the acoustics were very good even for a pop concert. The only thing that could be better would be the security procedures in getting people into the venue. They would be better served by having at least 2 lines of security... More

Loved that we could walk from the Radisson Blu hotel in downtown Minneapolis. Nice play, lots of fun. You can order a drink in the lobby, and they had lots of options.

We really enjoy taking in plays and when they are in one of the old traditional theaters it is extra special. State Theater is one of 3 theaters operated by the Hennepin Theater Trust. We and 2500 of our "friends" saw "A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder" The play was excellent and very funny. Two things to consider- there... More

Very good musical. They started "wanding" people as you come in -- it has to do with the Paris shootings -- sad how we need to deal with others to protect us. Great people working there helpful, friendly and took care of your needs or requests. The Hennepin Theater Trust has done a great job.

This theatre is beautiful!! Just sitting in the glory of this bit of history was as enjoyable as watching the Nutcracker! I really hope they never change anything about this glorious venue!

Went to see the Impractical Jokers comedy troupe The Tenderloins. Beautiful old theater. Had front row seats but they added a little barrier in front us and made two more rows for VIP ticket holders, I guess. Had a fun show!

We went to hear Jim Gaffigan, the comedian. Gorgeous theatre, nice facilities, & good show. Unfortunately, we had balcony seats - row s - and couldn't see much. Fortunately, we could hear well - not much you need to see with a stand up comedian !!

This is a beautiful old theater. But just coming from seeing Ringo Starr there on Friday night, I felt I had to review it. The audience, which did consist mainly of the over 50 age crowd, was rude and pushed people unnecessarily . I found it odd people that age would be so nasty. About 99% of the crowd stood... More
