I love my morning or afternoon walks around Lake Harriet. It's beautiful and you will often see bald eagles, geese and an occasional red fox. Great restaurant by the band shell and Sunday concerts in the summer.

There are 3 city lakes in Minneapolis : lake Calhoun, lake of the isles and lake Harriet. Calhoun is the biggest and busiest. Isles is the most corporate. And Harriet is the most family oriented. All are beautiful for traveling around and have bike and walk paths. Harriet has a nice half shell for music in the summer too.

Lake Harriet is my favorite lake out of the 3 major lakes in Minneapolis. It is very family friendly. The food is delicious and the ice cream is heavenly. There are concerts there. There is a trolley you can pay to ride on. There is a rose garden. There is 2 beaches. There is a new playground. It's a great... More

This is a very peaceful place to walk in Minneapolis. If you are new to the city, it has a path that connects all the lakes in the city. You can bike on a separate trail, or walk on a paved path. Good for wheelchairs also. In the summer nights, they have concerts at the bandshell and sell sodas, and... More

It's a nice quiet place to just walk or hang out. There is food available and a lot of places to sit. 2 restrooms around. There is a train near the lake. You can take a train trip and it's fun. I was here in April and the water activities hadn't started.

I have been walking around this lake since 1980 and over the years the charm has remained as the age of the people walking the lake has aged with me. Unlike nearby Lake Calhoun, Lake Harriet offers a tree covered path, a food and bathroom area and of course the tree with the elf... look it up before you walk... More

Lake Harriet has been my favorite lake in Minneapolis since I was a child. I still go rollerblading around it with my dad every summer. It is great for a walk, ride, or drive. The band shell frequently has free concerts where you can sit and watch while you consume any refreshments from Bread & Pickle (ice cream for me).... More

One of my favorite spots to go for a quick drive around when I'm in the Twin Cities. You can easily get mesmerized looking at some of the gorgeous houses around the lake, or just the picturesque lake itself... the two together make for a deadly combo.
