This was my first time here and it was an easy drive from Fargo, ND. I didn't spend the night so I don't know what the rooms are like, but the gambling is good. There are a ton of slot machines to choose from as well as blackjack and roulette. Super fun! There was also a big bar and a... More

We stopped by the casino just 30 miles out from Detroit Lakes on Hwy 59 on our way back to Winnipeg. We hear about bus trips going there all the time.We were warmly greeted by the service people and each signed up for a card. With that we received $5 free play. There were no exceptional perks that day. We did... More

We have visited the Shooting Star before and have always enjoyed our experience. I has an issue where I didn't understand the comped Star credits and ended up losing about $60 in free play due to someone using them after I left the machine not realizing I still had credits remaining. The staff at the rewards desk directed me to... More

We have been here a couple of times this year. The casino looks better that it had a few years ago. They have cleared it up, but still dark in some areas. Playing is always fun and most times they let you play. Win some and loose some. Go with the idea that it is about having fun. I like... More

make sure to check the rooms out before you accept them. We didn't and found our room with filthy carpets, bathroom floor with hair and worse than that the fridge had severe mold in the freezer.

The casino is rather small. They don't have craps & while they do have a smoke-free area, it was still smoky. If you are in the immediate area, it might be a good place to lose a few hundred, but it is definitely not worth driving to get here.

Just returned from our first trip here. Lovely casino and great rooms in the Stardust hotel attached to the main casino by a lovely walkway. Rooms were spacious and very quiet area. Entire casino and hotel were in immaculate condition. Staff was friendly and although the buffet was not large it had good food and a fair assortment. The only... More
