The museum is housed in a small building but makes use of all three floors (including the basement). The flow and organization of the information and artifacts was a bit random and scattered, but overall it had interesting things to see. I enjoyed the upstairs section the most and was amazed that they had class pictures of all the Lanesboro... More

This museum had a large amount of exhibits on the town and its history. The exhibits were well organized by categories and dates i really liked the large amount of displays on the schools...pictures, news articles. Trophies, etc. From way back.

There's a lot of interesting history for a small town, and it's well arranged in this historic building. the docent on duty was warm and well-informed.

I love this place! This museum makes history so personal and cultural. Everything displayed is connected to a specific family from the town. That just doesn't happen at other museums. There is so much to see here that I discover new things on every visit.

If you have a few minutes between eating, biking, and fishing, stop in at the Lanesboro Historical Museum. It's small but has a nice variety of items from the past 100 years or so, including clothing, dishes, school items, and farm implements. It's a fun spot to poke around!

I agree with the other reviewers. The Lanesboro museum is chuck full of interesting collections, and well organized. There's a military room, and medicine room, a formal gown/wedding room, and much more, including a wood carved duck with a video showing the carver and the steps he uses in carving it. And yes, 3 floors. Watch for the hours they... More

We were greeted by a very friendly and helpful man, with a cast on his arm. He gave us a quick overview of the museum and let us roam. He made it clear that he was available for questions. One section was closed, but he had several photos on the computer so we could see that section, too. Kids won't... More

The museum is well laid out and well cared for. The employee we spoke with was knowledgeable about the museum and local history. There's a large variety of exhibits. This is a really nice small town museum.

This was one of the most unexpected gems of the trip. They have precisely captured their small towns history. From Mr. Johnson's hair clippers from the first Barber shop in town to wedding dresses from 1800's marriages. If you like museums - go to this. So cute!
