Easy to find - It is a short walk to the water fall (though it did seem longer than the signs posted). The waterfall was beautiful and worth the stop!

After an easy 0.5 mile hike from the visitor center at the state park a person can view these truly magnificent and gorgeous falls. The small hike is definitely worth the view.

We went hiking to the falls and they are wonderful in the winter. It was a lovely day with a gentle snow falling. Great view.

What a hidden gem. And a free park, to boot! Definitely worth the hike in to see these breathtaking falls. Two beautiful vantage points to look out over the falls. Take time to walk to them both.

The portage falls is right off of 61 on the Minnesota side of the border. You can see the border patrol/crossing from the entrance of the park. You do not cross into Canada.
