Our first visit, but not our last. The rangers on Labor Day were incredibly helpful and friendly. They recommended the Bluff Loop Trail which had easy to quite difficult sections in this 3 mile loop. They suggested doing the loop clockwise which did seem to...More

We stayed here for our anniversary and arrived on a Monday. We had the trails to ourselves. The park is was nice and quiet, the tree canopy near Lake Pepin was very impressive. In our camp site we didn't wake up early and got to...More

The camping area in Frontenac State Park is well maintained. The sites are wooded and some have views of the distant bluffs of the Mississippi River. Electric is available at some of the campsites but not individual water hook-ups. Potable water is available throughout the...More

Spent a couple of nights camping in the park, good shower and restroom facilities close by our spot and hiking trailer right off the campground area. Lookouts provide great views of the Mississippi and Wisconsin across the river.

We hiked about 2 miles, but it was very challenging. The signs warn you that it is a difficult hike and they are not kidding. We enjoyed it immensely for getting the heart rate up. The "rock with a hole" is worth the challenge to...More

I'm not well versed in State park camping, but my friends are! We brought my friends' 5th wheel (a very large camper in my limited experience). We got a drive through site, which pleased my hosts very much. The public toilets and showers were well...More

I brought the kids to this park for a couple nights' stay in the hottest part of August. We stayed at cart-in Site 3 or 4 or something. We're hammockers, so avoid these sites if you are--there's not enough trees for hammocks. Luckily we had...More

You should contact the park. There isn't a boat launch or dock in the park , as far as I know, but the area has many marinas. The river bluff here is very steep and most of the park is up on the bluff. Access to the river is... More
