Pleasantly surprised how good it was! Learned about Dead Lake, finally!

After spending every August of my lifetime at Dead Lake (the second largest lake in the county, behind only Otter Tail) for our family vacation, I finally learned the complete story / legend of my favorite lake's namesake, all because of this museum! And the helpful staff / volunteers, of course! On my way to college last August, Dad and... More

We came by to look at the agricultural history exhibit but found so much more. There's Main Street exhibit and the temporary WW I exhibit. Astronaut Karen Nyberg's space photos were on display and we should have spent more time with those as well as the Native American artifacts.

Only 5 dollars a person to get in. I enjoyed the walk through history of ottertail county. My 21 year old daughter and myself for allot out of it. I would go again sometime. I do think any age would enjoy some part of it

Every exhibit, from the long term major exhibit to the short term special exhibits are so very well done and very informative. However, you cannot just rate the Museum proper, because it houses the Historical Society, which provides so much more ...explore your ancestry or that of a friend in the County...delve into the history of the area....chat with extremely... If you like to check out local museums you'll love this one. Real nice permanent displays featuring the history of Otter Tail County. Temporary display/features are also very interesting and change a couple of times a year. This is also a good resource for researching the newspaper archive and genealogy. The museum has a full-time director and staff as well... More

Great museum of the area. Interesting displays and friendly staff. Visited during Kirkbride exhibit several times. Unique history in Fergus Falls.

Disappointing that the museum isn't open on Saturdays. For those of us that work can't enjoy this. it would also be nice for travelers to be open on weekends

It went on and on with many rooms - cute vignettes in each one. While most exhibits were not interactive, they are modernizing as they can, with pull out drawers displaying more of the collection, especially beautiful Ojibwe beadwork. A really nice overview of the history of the entire county.

The museum not only holds a great on going Ottertail County Museum exhibit, but multiple traveling exhibits....and even invites a farmers market to their front lawn weekly in the summer. Worth the stop.
