Folks who don't live here might find this interesting. As I've lived on the Iron Range my whole life it's just another Outlook. This is a good spot to go to look at stars or anything else in the sky, such as eclipses. Unfortunately we...More

It is so pretty to see in the fall! The leaves are amazing. The road up to the top is pretty rough. The highway 101 is rough but is being redone. The view is worth the trip tho!

Amazing view of working mines in the area! This area is the mining meca of Minnesota. What should really upset environmentalists that visit this cool lookout is all of the garbage that has been dumped and left here. What a mess...

The view is pretty spectacular! The one way gravel road travels up to the lookout. We saw large mining dump trucks carrying iron ore to be processed. A fun little adventure. One could bring a picnic and eat on the large rocks around the lookout.

We had been there before at least 10 years ago. Lots more trees and brush along the road leaving so you can't quite tell you're driving on the edge of cliff. It's amazing to see the ores and little curvy roads on piles of rocks!

Free attraction off of Hwy 101. It's a dirt road on a mine dump so be careful not to go over the edge. The vistas are amazing, as is the view of active mining at United Taconite. Sunsets are especially beautiful.

We could clearly see 5 water towers in the distance. Just one mile out of town going west, turn left on gravel road. You will see a small sign. Panoramic view. The pits are huge. There are markers with a short history and description of...More

Amazing view of the mines and good golly the view goes on for days. Heading out of town it's a mile on the left and a gravel drive that loops to give you the view of a lifetime.
