We really enjoyed taking this nature trail. It was a little disappointing when it ended in construction with no way to get to the Superior entry....but still made for an amazing worthwhile hike. We really enjoyed the amazing variety of birds that were flitting around...fun time! Be sure to avoid the poison ivy though :(

You cant go wrong on the shores of Lake Superior and Park Point this seemingly endless sand beach is wonderful. Old growth forest in a unique environment. It is how ever a bit stressful watching for poison ivy that is everywhere. If you do this hike know what poison ivy looks like and step carefully. I have never in my... More

It feels like a hidden treasure. I like to walk the trail to the end, then the beach back. Watch for poison ivy.

This hike was one of the first things we did when arrived in Duluth. It's a beautiful hike. You can take the trial that leads down the forest side. Trail is nice and solid with sand dunes once in a while. The breeze of the Lake is so refreshing. My family and I decided no matter what, we wanted to... More

You really feel the lake effect here, so be prepared for wind and possibly chilly weather. Worth bringing a jacket because the lake is beautiful and peaceful, and it's a nice trail to walk as a family.

There are a few attractive components to this hike. Of course the foremost is Lake Superior. But what we enjoyed most was the tall stands of White and Red Pines. These very large and tall pines made for a cool and breezy walking area. But note there is also sand dunes as a component of this trail. The map says... More

Park point has great beaches and it is very long so it never feels crowded. It's a great place to swim, see the ships with an incredible view of Duluth.

We hike this trail at the end of Park Point often (park at the airport if you don't want to traverse all of the beach trail) and rarely see more than a handful of others. Late in the day, it's nice to follow the trail almost to the Superior Entry, then return along the shore — lovely view of the... More

We have gone to Park Point the last 4 times we have been up to Duluth. Its a nice quiet park where you can walk the beach of Superior or along a nature trail. Best advise if you want to walk out to the end of the trail, is to park at the airport and go from there. The last... More

This was wonderful for our four kids that needed exercise. Interesting and fun. Watch out for the poison ivy though.
