The only aquarium in the U.S. that focuses on freshwater exhibits, this three-story waterfront structure is ready for public viewing after a year and a half and almost $34 million. Plenty of interactive exhibits and re-created habitats are fun and educational for children.

We spent 3 fun filled hours with 4 adults and 3 youth. The aquarium is very clean and all the rooms are designed well. The large exhibit with petting the fish was most exciting and laughing out loud as the fish pass by and you...More

We had some time to fill so we decided to take in the Aquarium and we are glad we did. It was very interesting. We even learned a few things. The sturgeon area was fascinating. We did not have any children with us but there...More

Definitely good for about two hours, with kids of all ages. But it's fairly pricey and could use some expanding. My daughter enjoyed petting the sturgeons the most, but that was the main highlight (she's 3). There's a couple other cool tanks, and a fun...More

The wife and I brought our two younger kids with us. Plenty to do and see. We spent the morning here and then went to eat lunch. We came back to watch the shark feeding and then left to go on a boat tour. After...More

We only come because we have a membership through the children's museum and we get 50% off, which makes it worth it. Park at playfront park and walk over to save $5 on parking. Cool place to see but not worth the cost without a...More

As Aquariums go, this place is just average compared to other city owned ones. Nothing to compare to Sheds in Chicago. Pricey for the experience. Parking is not free either. Kind of a rip-off!

Three and a half stars? I disagree. Brought grandsons and I couldn't peel them away from any of the exhibits or interactive activities. Freshwater fish aren't as vivid but fresh water ecosystem is also interesting and so relevant, in light of the location. I've passed...More

This a great aquarium. It is not comparable to the aquarium in Chicago but Duluth is not Chicago. For the area, it is interesting and provides exhibits that are specific to the locale. We spent three hours reading and playing with the exhibits. Loved the...More

We wanted to be sure to visit the aquarium, so we came right over after checking in at our hotel and got there just before 6 pm, the time admissions closes. We had about an hour to go through, which is a little short. We...More
