It's not an elaborate museum by any means, but this little gem in Downtown Bemidji will let the kids burn off some energy while learning about well, Science with hands on experience, a variety of critters and a little gift shop. There is a nominal fee and it is worth it.

6 of us (all over 70) went there and all thought it was great. Probably better for kids in the 6-12 range. Very hands on! We all liked the variety of animal exhibits and I thought the physical science exhibits were awesome. We spent an hour+ there. A tad expensive for non-science people. But I saw things (and tried things)... More

What a delight! We had a wonderful time at the Science center, learning about electricity, Gravity, playing the bubble tubes and having a blast in the shadow box. They have a variety of different reptiles and fish (BEAUTIFUL fish tank!) for learning purposes and the staff is friendly and very helpful. They love what they do. Even their gift shop... More

Took my granddaughters, ages 5-9, and the all had a blast. They loved to see the birds, bunnies, snakes and tropical fish. They have lots of fun activities for for all ages and the staff very friendly. The kids are ready to go back again already!

There are always kids running around in here learning and engaging their curiosity and brains. There are different creatures to pick up and hold or just pet. Different activities to engage the public. Our 2 boys ages 9 and 10 love this place!

My family recently visited this center and my kids, ages 6 & 8, had a good time. The center has one main level and a smaller upstairs with a few more attractions. While it is called "Headwaters Science Center" it is not about the actual headwaters. Instead it is a science museum with a pretty wide range of science activities... More

Spent a few hours here on a rainy day in Bemidji. Kids ages 8 to 12 loved it. Very inexpensive admission and lots of experiments and critters to check out.

What a super fun time! The interactive exhibits kept my grandkids, aged 6 and 9, totally entertained. To think that a town of a little more than 14,000 people can provide such an interactive array of interesting exhibits for children to explore is amazing. They are looking forward to a return visit.
