Love visiting the Farmer's Market on Saturday and the restaurants in the building and also along the outside are very good. Such high quality products. Plenty of shops for shopping, anything from clothing/specialty gifts/jewelry to chocolates/desserts. They are always expanding the area to include new...More

Thank you for not only saving this historical architecture, but also the history of mental health care. The Beauty Is Therapy concept was new to me and so important! I am grateful for this knowledge and experience.

We went here on our last day of our trip to Traverse City and it was a wonderful experience. Our tour guide was nice, funny, and very knowledgeable about the history of the campus. My favorite part was touring the underground tunnels and going inside...More

Just not enough going on to make it a destination. We went at 4:00 on a Monday and much of it was closed. It was warm and we just didn’t have much to do or see.

Very cool facility with gascinating history. Still a lot of room to grow tenants and expand the scene. But this place is on its way and worth a visit.

It's hard to believe today but many years ago there was talk of tearing down the old hospital buildings which today are the Commons. It's a big place with retail, restaurants, a brewery and a winery. In back, there's a park with hiking trails. Definitely...More

I was very interested in this tour with my background as a nurse. Felt like the history of psychiatric care at the time when Grand Traverse State Hospital was open was well represented and from what I remember from nursing school, very accurate. Joe our...More

There are many old photos with descriptions as you walk around. You may certainly walk around as I did and get a feel for the place as it was. But you are experiencing it as it is as well.
