Seeing how and experiencing the locks working was interesting. The trip takes about 2.5 hours and quite franking becomes boring after you have seen how the locks work. Other than the locks the scenery is pretty grubby as you float around filling in time. Viewing...More

I always love to watch the freighters and ships, especially at night when they are all lit up, they cease to amaze me.

Amazing view! Very quiet and quite impressive. Make sure you bring a jacket and warm socks, it's very cold.

Thi's is an incredible thing to see when huge ships go through the locks. You need to be patient, though, because it is not a fast process. There is an observation tower which provides a good view and you can call ahead to the visitor's...More

So cool, loved coming to the locks. Teens loved it, 11 years old and 50 plus loved it. Call the visitor's center to get the ship hotline so you know when ships are coming in. Great staff. Very helpful.

Like someone already stated, there is a ramp up to the second level but not all the way up to the upper level. The view from the ground is good also. One good view is if a ship is downbound in the MacArthur lock ( the closer... More
