I have been to Africa and loved the wide selection of art -- at many different price points that Amazwi offered. I ended up buying the most precious stone sculpture and carting it back to Ohio with me. Go -- you will see one of the best collections of African art anywhere in the US.

This small shop hosts and displays wonderful native art from various places in Africa. There are items from Zimbabwe (stone carvings), Kenya (wood carvings), South Africa, and other areas that are exquisite. Having traveled to many of these places it brought back a flood of warm memories of the people and cultures.

tons of african art, some interesting pieces... but in a tiny michigan town it seems entirely out of place. guess as a tourist this is the last thing you expect to find there

If you appreciate African art you will be in paradise. This store is amazing! You will find art from different African countries, from large sculptures to small pieces. Also tapestries, artifacts you can hang (like masks), and jewelry. Of the stores we visited in downtown Saugatuck this one was, by far, the most unique, interesting and beautiful. Expensive....but deservingly so.

My wife and I first began shopping at Amazwi many years ago and have loved it ever since. The owners who have since become friends are extremely creative, with a fine sense of style and quality. We have purchased many items over the years for both gifts and our personal collection. The African made items on display at Amazwi range... More

I just got back from a trip to Saugatuck where I stayed in the suites above the gallery. I loved the variety of items in the shop as well as chatting it up with the wonderful individuals working there. I was offered a 10% discount for staying in the suite above the gallery and my husband and I bought two... More
