My wife and I went here because it is noted as a great place to pick up Petosky stone on the beach. We were not disappointed. This park has a gem of a beach and they do a good job of keeping the park clean....More

We loved visiting the beach. The kids loved looking for stones and tossing rocks into the water. there is a bath house with showers to get the sand of your feet. Do not miss the views!

Stopped here on the way to the UP- water is beautiful but it was to rough to swim. Beach well maintained, plenty of parking. Concessions and bathrooms were clean

First time we visited Petoskey and so happy we found this state park! We were looking for a nice beach and we definately found it! Wish we would have been able to return to it before we had to leave.

I was so excited to finally make it to this beach and had heard it was one of the best in the country. While it was nice, I think the beach in Frankfurt is better as several others along the West Michigan coast. We walked...More

I traveled to Petoskey to see the red sun set on Lake Michigan. Wow, that was great. I also had the chance to hunt for Petoskey stones. First time seeing such stones that looked like the back of tortoises. I got about 20 of them.

We camped in the Dunes section and were sheltered from the beach by the fenced dunes behind us. As a lifelong Lake Michigan regular, enjoyed daily views of Little Traverse Bay for a change. Also discovered hunting for Petoskey stones isn't just for kids. Time...More

I do not see any pontoon at the state park. Try google in Harpon Springs as I saw a lot of boats,

I am not quite sure I follow your question. There are huge dunes you can climb, the camping is near the dunes but not on them. Hope that helps.
