Whitefish Point Lighthouse is a great place for all ages. There is a lot of history here, it is very well kept and the view of the mighty Lake Superior can't be beat. After visiting the lighthouse, be sure to check out the Great Lakes Shipwreck Museum and then take a stroll along the coast. I can't wait to visit... More

A lot of history in the area. We played Gordon Lightfoot's hit song the "Edmund Fitzgerald" pretty much the entire time we walked around. Lake Superior is a vast and beautiful view from the lighthouse, even though many ships lay at the lake's bottom in this area. The locals are very friendly, the big mosquitoes are not.

We walked the area and took photos, but did not choose to pay for our family of 4 to go inside. Beautiful area.

Well kept, museum attached to learn about the lighthouse keepers and their lives and the task of lighthouses in the past, great view. Need to pay entrance fee but that's well spent.

The views from the observation deck are a site to behold. Freighters are so close. The rocky beach has many stones waiting to be skipped.

We live in S.E. Michigan, we don't get up here often. The views are spectacular. We walked the beach with our dog. The air is clean, the stop is free (if you don't spend a bunch of money on fudge or in the gift shop) the scenery is breathtaking, and the water is cold. Don't pass on this historic stop... More

Although the museum was closed we were still able to enjoy the sound of the waves and the amazing view at Whitefish Point. The lighthouse is beautiful and right next to the lake. We were able to watch ships come in and enjoy the scenic relaxation of the sun and lake.
