Not your average zoo

What a neat place. Many of the animals roam freely around the zoo. You can pet them and feed them. Additionally, they have a collection of animals not seen at most zoo's.

A nice variety and interesting mix of animals! Easy access on highway 2. A forest setting with comfortable walking trails provides an opportunity for families to have a fairly close up animal viewing experience. Some interactive exhibits for the kids are fun and provide photo ops for your vacation portfolio! The nearby town of Naubinway is convenient for lunch or... More

This is a fun zoo. Feeding the bears, alpacas, and goats was fun. My only concern is that they are trying to purchase a lion cub from a breeder. There are so many places that have illegal lions. Why encourage the purchase of cubs?

We loved this zoo and the bugs loved us! Make sure you wear pants or put on bug spray!! So many bugs around due to the mulch you walk on & the animals. This was a super neat zoo! Several different animals & some I've never seen before. Friendly staff. Met the owners and they took time to talk to... More

This was a great family outing with a surprisingly wide variety of animals to see. We took the family including great-grandma, two toddlers and a 5 mos old. Nine of us in all. We spent a couple of hours there and really enjoyed the experience. Everyone loved it! The brown bears were fun to watch as the played and wrestled... More

I have been to this zoo twice now and I still love it. It is a great way for kids to get a closer look at some of the native animals of Michigan and also some exotic ones. A cool experience for the little ones is getting to feed some of the animals as well. Always very polite staff and... More

This zoo is managed very poorly. As soon as we entered the building we were treated rudely by the owners daughter who was taking our money for tickets. The animals are in horrible conditions. The entire place reeks of urine and feces. All of the enclosures are too small for the animals. Some of the animals are thin and unthrifty... More

I'm amazed that such an animal expert like yourself would not take the time to address some of these issues and concerns with us at the time of your visit. I believe this is nothing more than a rant due to not receiving the same addmission price as you stated that you received the previous year. That leads me to... More

Our family (including my 15 & 12 year old) really enjoyed this zoo. They have a really nice mix of animals & you can buy food to feed the goats, deer, alpacas & llamas. It was the highlight of my animal loving daughters' day. My 12 year wanted to go back again the next day, lol! I also liked that... More

We took a brief trip out from our base camp in St. Ignace to visit this zoo because the kids saw it in a brochure and wanted to check it out. I wasn't sure what to expect, because sometimes small, independently-run animal parks can be disappointing to say the least. But we were very pleasantly surprised. I was surprised at... More
