I'm not sure how many volcanoes there are in the world that you can fly down on a modified snowboard (for all intents and purposes), so this was a pretty cool and unique experience. We booked a tour with Tierra Tours, which I highly recommend...More

Holy cow, I took a sled down a 1700 foot active volcano, just because my son wanted to... I was scared out of my mind, but our guides were fantastic! Small children can still enjoy by hiring a “shirpa” to carry the boards up the...More

Volcano boarding is a must do if visiting Nicaragua. Our tour guide and owner of the company Anry was wonderful....so easy to get along with. Anry from Mas Adventures in Leon went out of his way to make sure we had a more than perfect...More

Contrary to another recent review, I felt the hike was a bit more difficult than expected (mainly due to the wind) and the ride down was much easier. I think what made it easier was our guide (Anry, the owner of Mas Adventures and founder...More

The climb to the top is not too difficult, taking about 45 minutes. However it was more difficult as it got quite windy higher up and I was carrying a large piece of wood for the volcano boarding. Alternatively I could have paid some locals...More

I saw plenty of people going up and down with their kids -- maybe ages six or eight. They sat on the boards with their parents going down. I'd 100% recommend you pay the few bucks to have the local carry the kids' boards up... More
