Nature's Kennel Iditarod Sled Dog Racing and Adventures offers guests the opportunity to learn to drive their own sled dog team. In the winter, we offer half-day, full-day and overnight beginner adventures. We also offer dog sled rides both at our kennel location in McMillan, MI (the Eastern Upper Peninsula) and at Boyne Highlands Resort in Harbor Springs, MI. In the fall, we offer fall color tours by dog team on our four-passenger side by side. In the summer, we have walk-through guided kennel tours.

I went with my girlfriend and her parents to try this experience. We arrived to the nature center one day before to see where the place would be located. Ryan welcomed us and showed us the puppies, we amazed with that many dogs. The next day we arrived Zoey welcomed us and then We meet Tasha, all the crew was... More

When most of our friends were going to the beach, my husband and I wanted a winter adventure. When we found the dog sledding trip at Nature's Kennel where you could learn to drive your own team, we and two friends decided to go. It was an amazing experience from the orientation run, to learning how to hook up the... More

Coming from Indiana, not many people I know can say they have been dogsledding. I am no longer one of those people thanks to Natures Kennel. Seriously, this was an amazing trip. My friends and I came up to the U.P. on a Sunday afternoon and stayed at the Chamberlin Inn and went dogsledding Monday afternoon at Natures Kennel. Dogsledding... More

We just got home from doing a 20-mile dog sled ride with Nature's Kennel. They do a package deal with a nearby Inn--Chamberlain's Ole Forest Inn--and we loved every minute of our three-day excursion. The package is two nights at Chamberlain's and one day at Nature's Kennel. Ryan was an excellent guide; the kennel tailors your day to your desires.... More

Ever wonder what it be like to run your own team of sled dogs? If the answer is yes then you need to check out Nature's Kennel. This professional team takes wonderful care of the dog's and has many adventure options. Be warned, if you like dogs you are going to fall in love with the dog's.

What a wonderful time my friend and I had visiting Nature's Kennel for a Fall Color Tour! What a sight to see and hear over 120 sled dogs barking at the same time. Then the chance to hold a new puppy. Dog pulled vehicles took us about 6 miles into the woods. 14 dogs on each team. What an adventure... More

My wife and I did the half day tour with temperatures hitting -22 and we had an absolute blast! The crew is warm and welcoming. The dogs are affectionate and friendly. And don't worry they loved the cold. Colder the better. With the smell of hot coffee and fresh baked cookies, it was like a small piece of heaven in... More
