My husband and I climbed to the top of this small mountain. After reading reviews of what others said, we took the short path. Yes there were a lot of stairs but at least we weren't tripping over rocks and roots. The views from the...More

Well worth the effort of the reasonably gentle walk to the top and we’re hardly in the first flush of youth ! Amazing views or this wonderful area if you pick a clear day.....

Lots of stairs to climb but worth it . You can have a choice to walk a trail or take the stairs. You can see for miles

Sugarloaf Mountain provides a very nice 360 degree view from viewing platforms at the top. There is a short trail (about 1/2 mile each way) to the top. There is an easy (flatter) route and a harder route. In both cases there are some stairs...More

Just outside the city is this great little gem of a hike. It’s about 5 miles from downtown, so it can be biked, however heading out there is only partly bike path, the rest has to be done on the shoulder. The hike up is...More

Good views from top if weather cooperates. Hazy the day we were here. Hike was not too difficult. Lots of stairs.

This was by far the best thing we did while in Marquette for a weekend. The hike was relatively easy for non-hikers on the difficult path. There are 315 (I think?) total steps that you will need to take to get to the very top...More

Loved the view and climb to Sugarloaf and plan on one more visit before we leave. Beautiful views 360 There are two climbs to the top and very doable.

It was a little bit of a hike, but there were benches to rest at. We went on a pretty windy day, but honestly it just made the views more beautiful with the waves on Lake Superior. If you’re in Marquette, definitely spend an hour...More

Another must-do when in Marquette, Sugar Loaf is a gem. I'm a troll (no, not on FaceBook)! That means I live under the bridge in Michigan, the Lower Peninsula, as it were. Anyway, as a first time visitor to the Marquette area and Sugar Loaf,...More

We did it in the winter and it took a little over an hour round trip plus the time we spent at the top enjoying the scenery. Icy trail, steps packed with snow/ice, etc. we were using crampons (ice cleats) to make the trip... More

After conferring with my wife it was probably a 30 minute climb. We did stop a couple times on the way up for sake of the view and to catch our breath. The closer we got to the top we did slow a bit - our 14 year old, 4... More

Depends on the kind of pet doesn't it? If it's a dog, just keep it on a leash and all is well.
