Doing TC and the Dunes on the cheap

I would have given this park 5 stars were it not for the fact that, like another reviewer stated, quiet hours are not enforced at this park...but then I've found that's the case... read more

I've been going up here for over 25 years now. It's been through many changes since, but it's always felt like "home" to me. The park is beautiful, and despite budget cuts to the parks, it's always been clean. The store was a great addition to the pack several years back, but I'd love to see them offer more reasonable... I have camped here since 2005. Every year. Sometimes twice a year. The rustic side has clean sites, vault toilets, an empty lake, and plenty of space between the sites. You also have access to the bathrooms on the modern side if you want to shower. You are close enough to Tom's Market to get anything you need. Traverse City... More

Large variety of site types, so whether you like to be on the water, or secluded by trees; in a tent or a specialty RV, this is a great choice to spend your time. Their beach area is very family friendly, the kids love the small store, and people you don't know yet feel safe enough to become quick friends.... More

I would have given this park 5 stars were it not for the fact that, like another reviewer stated, quiet hours are not enforced at this park...but then I've found that's the case at every Michigan state park I've been to. You simply are at the mercy of your neighbors; depending on who they are, you may have a good... More

The sites are fine enough and the bathrooms aren't too bad for primitive campers, but they don't monitor after hours AT ALL! The site next to us was incredibly loud, had no respect for others around them and couldn't care less. They literally went to bed when most of the campsite was waking up and fired up a generator at... More

We camped for 5 days. Knowledgeable & helpful staff. This is a busy park, recommend reservations. South side campsite was a nice size and had shade. There were many tent campers as the ground was mostly level. Showers in one bath house were very strong and water hurt when it hit the skin, water warm to cold (which could come... More

Interlochen State Park is Michigan's first state park. Next year is their centennial. This State Park has a beach, a boat launch & a camp store. Modern restrooms & showers. There used to be a nature trail, but the lady at the camp store told us that several trees have fallen across it & they haven't got around to cutting... More

While the park itself is beautiful and the lake is awesome. This was our second and last time ever going there. The park workers would come around at 10 oclock and tell everyone who was outside there trailer/tent/RV whatever it was and made you turn off the radio completely. it wasn't even loud at all. Last year we partied it... More

This was a clean, well maintained campground and as a woman camping alone, I felt very safe.(I've had some irritating experiences with drunks and fireworks) Rangers came around on bikes and in trucks just to check out the campground and teams of summer help were cleaning up vacant sites in the am. I thought the tree buffer between M-137 and... More

This State park has over 400 campsites, making it one of Michigan's largest campgrounds. not so much in land mass but in campsites alone. The camping is divided into north/south parks with the north, level ground and south more hilly. the beach area and camp store is located between the two which is all situated along the shores of beautiful...
