If you enjoy a taste of nature, you'll enjoy De Graaf. it is only a couple miles West of downtown, and offers a very nice restful location for a taste of nature.

The De Graaf Nature center is a really nice place, I am not sure how many acres it is, but it has a creek running through it, a pond and a variety of trails. It's a slice of heaven in the city!

The nature center has a viewing room, some live animals, activities for kids and a small gift shop. The trails are well marked and of various lengths. It is a bit marshy so expect some insects. There are benches and viewing decks along the trails....More

We didn't know what to expect but we were very pleasantly surprised. Indoors there is a viewing station and exhibits including live animals to keep the kids interested. Outside, the trails are well maintained mainly on boardwalks. Well worth a couple of hours of your...More

Degraaf is a great place to go to "get away from it all". Inside are great displays and friendly staff. Outside the trails are great places to walk, nature watch or sit and "quiet down", pray or journal.

The naturalists are well prepared, kid sensitive, and informative. we walked through the nature center trails and followed a leaflet supplied by them. through easy to maneuver trails and boardwalks. awesome steam and pond too! lots of interesting things to see and do...
