A moderate hike uphill to a wonderful view. The trail-side is carpeted with trillium and many other flowers.

Once you find this trail make sure you take water because it's uphill both ways and in soft sand. We enjoyed it and did the little side dune for extra punishment. You finish by walking up then down a long but not-as-steep hill of dirt/gravel...More

Short 1/2 mile walk to the point where amazing views of Lake Michigan await! It was a beautiful clear, warm, sunny day for us and the water and sky were perfect blue. Both islands (north and south manitou) were visible and we immediately started planning...More

This trail takes you to the northernmost point of the park land. It's a bit of a drive from the more-frequently traveled trails in the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Forest, but worth the time and effort--especially if you'd rather avoid crowds. We try to hit...More

Although getting to this trail is definitely off the beaten path, my family truly enjoyed the beautiful hilly hike through the forest, and the views are incredible!

We were able to park in the lot and take the hike right to the water. Path is well-maintained. View was spectacular! We took the entire loop and will be back on a clear summer day!

Great trail! Steep climbs. Great hike. The view is awesome when you reach the top. No place to really sit and enjoy the view, though...Will do this one again.

You walk a up hill trail (not bad, just take your time) through a beautiful forest, and when you get to the top you're in for a treat. It's a beautiful view of Lake Michigan and well worth the walk up to the top. If...More

No vehicles are allowed. For those who cannot hike, there are some beautiful overlooks on the Pierce Stocking Drive, which is near the town of Glen Arbor.
