I recently visited the inside of this building and I was right in time for a tour. There is a store on the inside called Pure Detroit. They have them there during the weekends. It's about an hour but it goes into the details of...More

We took the free tour of the building offered through the Detroit store in the lobby area. We learned a lot about the buildings history and got to see some amazing views of Detroit from the top floor.

If you love to look at old buildings from a different era this is the one to see. The ceiling to the walls are magnificence. The colours are alive and tell the history of the city and Michigan.

The first floor lobby with its magnificent tiles and stained glass is something to behold. The Guard station has a page that describes the history of this outstanding building

We were in Detroit for a wedding and wanted to see a little bit about what Detroit was about, having known about its past better days and heard that it is coming back. We took both the tours offered by Pure Detroit, which are conveniently...More

This is actually now the inside of a bank and just beautiful. Part of a walking tour I was on. It is amazing how the new was merged with the old to create something so beautiful in these buildings.

Try to take a walking tour in Detroit and you can be sure this will be one of the stops on the tour. You need to check out the ceiling of this place and the architecture in general.

The Guardian Building is a remnant of the golden age of Detroit. The Art Deco interior make this gem one of the most beautiful buildings in the city- all the fancy gold on the ceilings and balcony is breathtaking. This is a must see for...More

My husband and I make a point of visiting Art Deco buildings and going on Art Deco tours. This one is over the top in color, even gaudy. We preferred the Fisher Building. That said, the Guardian is worth a visit. We liked the bank...More

There is often ample street parking available pretty much all over the city, but be careful to watch for the meters. They are skinny units and not very tall and there may be only 1 in a middle of a block. Bikes are... More

No there are 3 tours a day on the weekends. However, if there is a wedding or function the last one is usually cancelled.

You can also visit the building on your own, when it's open.
