On Lake Fanny Hooe, the Fort is a great experience. Campgrounds are wonderful, especially the older campground. Walk through the Fort. Well worth it.

Have always wanted to go to Copper Harbor and see Fort Wilkins State Park, so for our 30th wedding anniversary we set out from Central Michigan. Was hoping for peak color, but did not see much color, still worth the drive, beautiful.

This place is a must visit if you have any interest in military type of history and hardship people faced living in this climate in winter. Very well done, well preserved and very interesting, Very impressive park!

A bit of everything: history, culture, nature! Restored fort; great views of the bay and lighthouse. Located at the northern terminus of U.S. highway 41, east of Copper Harbor. Recreation state park pass required for most of the park attractions.

Sometime we will get up here during the summer when the interpretive people are at the Fort! The buildings are self-guided with descriptions of everything on display. They have done a great job on restoring the old fort buildings. Well worth a few hours of...More

I don't think there is a designated bike path per se, but there are many bikers in Copper Harbor and they use the roadways.
