This is one of those frontier forts that (happily) never had to be used to settle fights between Indians and settlers. Because of this, the fort remained in great condition during its time. It has been fully restored. They do daily reenactments with a guy...More

Camping at Fort Wilkins State Parks allows you to slow down - walk to the Fort, comb through history and walk to Copper Harbor (approx. 2.0 miles). The Fort is a replica of the 1870s Fort. It is well done with good information about life...More

Lovely place to ride or walk. Not sure what a daily pass costs. Go when the reenactments are being done!

The character actors were very good. A lot of interesting information. Disappointed that several sections were closed off. The scenery was beautiful.

We were anxious to visit this historic fort but slightly disappointed in the overall restoration. We are glad that they have preserved it but were expecting more costumed people based on what we read and heard about the site. Sometimes, especially when this fort did...More

Very close to town, a short bicycle ride - there is a crushed rock bike path that runs next to the highway directly to the Fort with a bike rack right outside. We basically toured the Fort only. There are 24 buildings, 19 are original...More

The park is a great place to visit and to go camping. Suggest getting reservations, as is very busy to get a camp site in the summer. Excellent area to go biking and site seeing by car. The fort is well maintained and free for...More

I don't think there is a designated bike path per se, but there are many bikers in Copper Harbor and they use the roadways.
