We are a 3rd generation family farm, that offers guided trail rides and hand-led pony rides. Relax on horseback while you take in beautiful Northern Michigan scenery and wildlife. We are open 7 days a week by appointment. Please wear long pants and closed-toed shoes, preferably boots as your ride may be rescheduled if you are not wearing proper shoes. Come out and enjoy nature on a beautiful horse or let your little one experience a pony ride through our little orchard.

It's been 50 years since I last rode a horse out of Howell's barnyard with Thelma Lou leading the pack. They used to ride through my grandfather's land so we got to ride free once a week. It's like a trip to Jed Clampet's old house when you get there. I once remember they had a cow in the house... More

Took our kids here for our daughter's 4th birthday. The animals were well cared for and they were very friendly. They led the kids on the horses for about a 20-30 minute walk around the pasture. They had helmets for the kids to wear. My kids loved it.

These horses are very well taken care of and are great for a trail ride. The guides are always very friendly. The entrance is somewhat rough looking - don't let that scare you off! We will return again next year.

This was such a great time! Amanda, the guide, is so friendly and patient and it was such a great ride! The horses are very friendly and she has a knack and ability to pair people up with the right horse. Trail rides aren't generally my thing but it was really very fun and I would do it again!

Our guide Amanda was wonderful; the trail through pastures, 150 year old apple orchards, oak forest and cedar forest was wonderful; our mounts Trooper and Raven were wonderful. A Great way to spend some time in northern Michigan.

Talk about a great place for a family adventure! We got our reservation time mixed up and arrived 2 hours early! The guides were getting ready to take a couple of friends out & asked them if we could join them. The guides had our horses saddled in short order. The guides were friendly, professional and just a hoot! :-)... More

Family-owned stables and wooded property near Burt Lake. The stables are a series of small sheds that are in poor condition, but the 50+ horses are in fine condition. Family members or neighbors direct the riding sessions through open fields and heavily wooded sections around ponds and streams. Very scenic and enjoyable and very reasonable costs compared to others. Don't... More
