Open year round, Castle Farms is one of Northern Michigan's top historic attractions, as well as one of the Midwest's premier wedding venues. Visitors can stroll throughout the magnificent stone buildings dating back to 1918, and enjoy gorgeous gardens. A variety of museum quality collections featuring castles, antique toys, and royalty memorabilia from around the world are displayed throughout the buildings. The Castle's 1918 Museum showcases items from that time era, plus World War I memorabilia. Children delight in feeding the huge rainbow trout swimming in the Reflection Pond, playing a game of giant chess, or hide-and-seek with the fairies and gnomes dwelling in the Enchanted Forest. Our Self-Guided Tours offer Scavenger Hunt tours for children, too! Everyone loves The Castle's Garden Railroad; with more than 1/2 mile of track and 68 G-scale trains, it's one of the largest in the State. Listed on both the National and State Historic Registries, Castle Farms is a world-class historic property where old world charm and modern-day elegance enchant visitors of all ages.

I've seen the Castle from the road many a time. I drove in and saw what beautiful, and a bit of quirky grounds they have! I spent quite a bit of time exploring a couple of paths, they had delightful finds! Fairies, gnomes, a huge knight in full metal armour, ponds, flowers, small wooden bridges, and many other great finds.... More

My husband and I have been to the northeastern portion of Michigan's lower peninsula many times but had never heard of Castle Farms. Because of going to Charlevoix and reserving our hotel through Trip Advisor, we received an email about things to do in the area and Castle Farms was one of them. We truly enjoyed our visit. The buildings,... More

A great place to visit. It was a most pleasant surprise that we did not anticipate on our visit to Charlevoix. (Did not prepare for the area by reviewing Trip Advisor). We were able to sneak in --time wise--due to upcoming wedding on property and then it closes to the public. I do not even know how to describe the... More

Not worth the price. Yes, I had a nice time with my husband (and our tour with 20 other people) but the food was cold, bland and tiny portions served "family-style" and shared by 6 other people that didn't know each other. This set-up would have worked if the band wasn't so loud. Good music, talented people - just too... More

We stopped here after reading about it on Trip Advisor on our way through town. It was interesting and very pretty but wasn't as authentic as I thought it would be. It is definately a gorgeous venue for weddings and events, though. We had a short amount of time in the area and probably would have preferred doing something else... More

We visited the Castle with some friends. We did the self guided tour which is well marked. I thoroughly enjoyed the Castle and the grounds are beautiful. They did a remarkable job of restoring the Castle to its former glory. I would allow at least 2-3 hours and more if you take your time. Make sure to bring or get... More
