This site is off the beaten track and many locals don't even know about it, but I found it to be fascinating! Not only did I get a history lesson but the setting was lovely too. Well worth a stop!

Fascinating presentation by the DNR ranger. This is a small site and the glyphs are heavily eroded. I would not make a special trip, but if you are in the area, it is worth a visit.

Seen the reviews on here and while randomly riding around the thumb, we seen the signs. Awesome guy from the DNR giving a history lesson. Indian heritage is always welcome and appreciated (esp when I have some in me 😁).

A fun stop for a glimpse of Michigan history! The on-site staff was friendly and full of information and the cool forest trail was a great stop on a hot day for both us and our dog.

The trail from the parking lot to the petroglyphs was well maintained, pretty short, and easy to follow. There was a ranger who was knowledgeable about the history & lore of petroglyphs, and Native American history in general, who showed us around the petroglyphs. There...More

My husband is writing a novel set in this part of Michigan, and we've been wandering around getting background information. The petroglyphs are a fascinating bit of history/folklore that we enjoyed very much. Don, the ranger/caretaker, suggested a visit to the Ziibiwing Center in Mount...More
