Carpet in halls is worn, torn and spotted. People wear ski boots and golf shoes here, but it's really bad. 3 stories and no elevator. Cell phone reception is poor. WI-FI is spotty. Cheap old furniture. There was an attempt to update the bathroom. Towels are thin. Room appearance-dated and tired. Room seems fairly clean, but I don't know about... More

joelalpert: we are very sorry you did not enjoy your stay. We definitely are not a luxury hotel, but the rooms are very neat and clean. We are working to continue to update our rooms, and have more renovations, including carpet, planned for next summer. More

We attended a wedding at Caberfae Peaks in November. What a beautiful venue for a wedding.....I mean GORGEOUS! Also for the guests to enjoy there is a heated swimming pool (THE KIDS LOVED IT!) and a hot tub. The drive to get there is very scenic, but watch out for the forest animals. The food we had at the wedding... More

If you want an old school Michigan ski resort without all the bells and whistles, this is the place for you. Pretty decent hills with good skiing if the natural snowfall gas been good. They don't have the snow making capabilities like other places nor the amenities but it's a good place to just ski. The gold course is also... More

Brian K: Thanks for the comments and for skiing with us. Please note that we have one of the most powerful snowmaking systems in the midwest. It wasn't always this way, however, for the last 10 years, and particularly the last 5, we have invested very heavily in snowmaking and it shows. We get open early, stay open late, and... More

Great ski hill with a good variety of terrain. My beginner kids love skiing the trails off of the North Peak quad. When I can sneak away I enjoy the more challenging runs over on South Peak or head into the Extreme Backcountry. The fact that a lower peninsula resort has such a large area they leave ungroomed is very... More

I've had season passes the last two year to teach my kids to ski and it has been very affordable. Terrain offers enough variety to take beginners from learning to experienced. They advertise black diamonds, but they really aren't. If you want a challenge, you need to sneak away to the woods!

Nice snow and plenty of terrain, the fries are great in the Cafe. Lots of fun going through trees and in the back.

We skied on a day that was very windy, but that did not hinder our ability to have fun. There is a nice variety of terrain and the grooming was really well done. The lodge is very nice with cubbies and plugins all over. You could bring a crockpot of chili and plug it in, and by lunch it will... More

Bought 3 weekend season passes for 2015-2016 and have more than gotten our monies worth even before March. Always well groomed with typically short or non existent lift lines Not huge elevation but that is lower peninsula Michigan -- can't make mountains where there are none. Enough trails to enjoy for everyone at all skiing abilities. Lodge is open and... More

Lodge is rundown - needs some major TLC. Kids liked it due to the size of the entire site not being very large.

I learned to ski in the Austrian Alps. I've been living in Michigan for 20 years and have spent many winter weekends skiing at Boyne Mountain and Boyne Highlands which are hills and not mountains. That being said, it's what's available in Michigan and these places have made the absolute best that can be out of the terrain. This weekend... More
