We have known about this museum since it opened. We do not get to the Cape very often. The Foundation has really done a fabulous job of telling the story of our favorite eccentric artist. Lots of his books available in the Gift Shop.

We loved this museum in Edward Gorey's home. The docent who was at the door/gift shop was a delightful man and the docent who toured us around the space actually knew Edward Gorey and so was able to add her own personal touches. Being from Chicago I was amazed to discover that he was born and raised in Chicago and... More

Toured the Edward Gorey House and museum exhibit, which was thoroughly fascinating. Such and eccentric personality and genius talent. Plan to return with a friend for another visit soon.

I've been an Edward Gorey fan for many years, but I had no idea about his home in Yarmouth Port and the museum that had been established there. I was not disappointed. The docents were very knowledgeable, and I enjoyed the scavenger hunt to find references to all 26 of the Gashlycrumb Tinies. It has a lovely little gift shop,... More

We did not know a lot about Edward Gorey coming in and learned a lot in our visit. Our guide was sweet and I think she knew him. They must have done a lot since his death in 2000 to make the museum since by all accounts Gorey was a hoarder who took in stray cats - but fear not... More

The Edward Gorey House is the actual home where he resided, which made it special from the outset. Gorey's mother was a pack-rat and saved EVERYTHING that had to do with Edward. Every youthful drawing, every school paper, every tiny little photo-booth photo. What a treasure! The exhibits are laid out in glass cases and labeled very precisely. There are... More

While visiting on Cape Cod, I did a search of museums and what should appear but Edward Gorey's house...open to the public. After years of seeing his drawings grace the opening and closing credits of PBS's Mystery series, how could I NOT visit?! It's about mid-way on the Cape, so easy to get to. Parking is across the street where... More

Loved our visit here and had an excellent guide in Nancy who gave us an overview before letting us loose to read everything for ourselves. We spent about an hour there and got nearly all of the scavenger hunt answers - fun - as well as lots of interesting information about Edward Gorey. Chap at register was very friendly and... More

We saw the EGH two years ago and we are still charmed by the magic and whimsy of Edward Gorey. Best of all, examples of the Gashlycrumb Tinies are scattered around the house and it's a blast finding them. Photography is allowed. The staff is great. We ❤ the Edward Gorey House
