I went to the aquarium during a day trip to the Falmouth area. I have been to many aquariums all over the country and I have to say I really enjoyed my visit to this one. The various displays were well-explained. There were some really unattractive fish which are normally not exhibited, a tank of Atlantic Salmon, and several blue... More

Good way to spend an hour or so. Make sure you catch one of the seal feeding/training sessions (usually at the aquarium open and closing times).

We went in the early fall with our family of 8. Everyone enjoyed seeing the fish from the 6 year old to the 18 year old. It was quiet and pleasant and worth the stop.

To say that the aquarium is small misses the point. The purpose of the exhibits is primarily education - tracing the history of the Woods Hole scientific community while also highlighting the local marine habitat. Taking all the time you need, you can see the whole thing in less than an hour. For an added bonus, be sure to be... More

This small gem is placed in a very special place. the first aquarium in the US and it is free. Make sure to go up stairs and see the top of the tanks. Take time to read the walls-very clear information about fish, the fishing industry and people who risked their lives. Make sure to see seal feedings.

I thoroughly enjoy the Woods Hole Aquarium. It is small with not a lot of fish yet what there is a lot since there is no other way to see these fish if one does not fish or scuba dive. The colors are generally muted tones around here and that is interesting too. The small size make the experience very... More

Excellent learning facility for kids and adults. You can tell the employees, government, and state take pride in making this place an educational hot-spot including protection of the animals and environment. It is a self-guided tour that is free, however donations accepted, and takes you through many different species of fish which are in multiple tanks, you are also allowed... More
