Beautiful, peaceful, rocky beach coast line. Great camping area or just to visit for the day. Just a few minutes away..

A buddy and I camped (tent) for the weekend to do some fishing. Overall, a nice campground but you need to know that there are no trees or vegetation to separate you from your neighbors. The good thing is that the site are good sized which is essential because over 75% were RVs and large trailers. Their firewood is dry... More

We spent many great days at this beach during summer and still do it during this beautiful fall. This beach state reservation is awesome. The beach starts rocky, but walking towards the Westport River the sand becomes really soft and it feels great. This summer the water was extremely warm, and even this last week-end it was still warm and... More

We stayed from Thursday to Sunday. Not much to do there but sit at the Rocky beach. The night crew (DCR) could be a bit more courteous to us campers, they don't need to be banging on the side of the camper with their flashlight at 5 minutes after 10pm to tell us it's after Ten to shut our generator... After taking a few years off decided to give Horseneck a second look last month. We have camped here numerous times in the past. The good: located right on the ocean, beautiful area with many things to do, nice area restaurants and a quaint central village in the town of Westport. The bad: just enough campers who are loud at... More

This beautiful beach stretches for a couple of miles along the entrance to Buzzards Bay and Rhode Island Sound. The beach is beautiful sand and water temps can get to the mid 70s by mid June. Beware if the undertow and educate your children as to how to react if they do get into the undertow. Environmentally friendly Restrooms and... More

This is one of my fave beaches south of Boston. On the hottest of days we've still been able to find parking, and a stretch of sand to ourselves. It's pretty with good sized waves. There are composting toilets, showers and a small snack bar. Families and couples frequent the beach. Although parking isn't inexpensive, is a great way to... More

I had not been to this beach in many years and found it to be an easy drive from the Boston area. However, I was disappointed that there was so much seaweed in the water, that it made the water totally uninviting to me. If you happen to have a senior National Park pass. entry to the beach is free.... More

We've always loved this beach but recently it's turned into a rocky-seaweedy mess. The brown/orange seaweed is so thick at the shoreline that you have to swim out at least 200 feet before it clears. I went out about 50 feet and headed back in. I was covered with foul-smelling seaweed from head to toe. Definitely looking for a new... More

The good thing about Horseneck is it's a big beach with lots of room. I've been coming here for years and I just can't believe the amount of trash all along the beach... disgusting . They've raised the price to $13, which still isn't outrageous but please clean the beach. It's hard with young kids to get to the water... More
