Great day hiking place.

What a wonderful free place to explore. No matter spring, summer, or fall, hiking here is magical. So much to see and explore and have fun.

Great trails close to Palmer, Ware, Brookfields, etc....some trails not signed that great but easy enough to finally get back on track if you miss something. Multi levels - not overly strenuous but a few good spots to work up a little heat in the body.

What a beautiful hiking trail area and awesome climbing rocks! The rocks are huge and there are places to climb and explore. There are clearly marked trails and trail maps posted so you won't get lost. You must be able to hike as there are some flat trails; however the majority of the trails are for a more advanced hiker.... More

Almost every day my dog Charlotte and I get the pleasure of walking through Rockhouse. This land preserve has many nice trails for the novice and trail runner alike. Main entrance is off Rt 9. Keep your dogs in control but off leash is ok if they are well behaved. Carry in and carry out all trash. See the tiny... More

Great mix of fire road and single-track trail. I went for a 3 mile run which covered pretty much all of the trails. Very scenic pond and a lot of interesting boulders to check out. I went to the top of the "summit loop" but the scenic vista may have overgrown a bit. Very nice relatively tame place for a... More

If you are not a Mountain Climber, but love hiking, check out this wonderful area right on Route 9 West of the Village of West Brookfield. You can take a short hike to the "Rock House", which is a place with large overhanging rocks where Native Americans and other travelers would find refuge in bad weather. Or you can hike... More

We went with my daughter and my son-in-law for a pleasant after lunch hike on a summer day. The pass through the rocks is really fun. I would say if you are handicapped, it could be a little challenging. The rock stairs up from the parking lot are fairly steep.Very pretty view from the cabin at the top of the hill.
