About nine miles from town, it's a long bike ride, but worth it. It's an impressive lighthouse that is still in use and has been "rescued" from erosion, something you can get a firsthand look at on this tiny island. I remember seeing it before...More

Worth the short walk or bike ride. Its a lighthouse on a cliff - not more than can be said. Not a lot to do in Sconset so this is it.

We rode our bikes from Downtown Nantucket to Siosconset beach and the Sankaty Lighthouse was the main stop on our agenda. It was a long but a gorgeous ride and the majesty of this lighthouse was completely worth the trip. There's no direct route to...More

An interesting place to check out but difficult to find. Our navigation had trouble locating the lighthouse. Not far from 'Sconset and worth checking out while in the area!

Always the perfect spot to take pictures. Beautiful and easy to access. Definitely worth the drive out to charming Siasconset.

We love to ride the Polpis Bike trail for close up views or the Milestone Road Bike trail for distant views. Just do not feel like we've seen all of Nantucket until we have viewed this beautiful working light house on the cliffs of Siasconset!

Need a rental car, seemed pretty far for a bike trip but the island has several very long bike trails. Even a week past daffodil weekend, the daffodils are everywhere!

It was fun to see the flashing of the light every few seconds to know that the lighthouse is still operating. There are several great views from roads on either side, but not a lot of real parking. It is a classic lighthouse, but at...More

The lighthouse has gorgeous views all around. The ocean is kind of blocked by a fence, but the huge field and homes near it make it picturesque.

As a summer resident, I try to bike over to Sankaty Lighthouse a few times a summer. Plenty of history. Read up on it before you head out. Great views. Check out the erosion that is taking place as you approach the lighhouse. It's basically...More
