Great little tour of this historic house. The guides presented lots of information as well as the background to many time worn expressions....don't let the bed bugs bite!

A small house with a big history. The docents were knowledgable and welcoming. Even the setting on the pond, is inviting and tranquil.

This is a must see!! The Hoxie House volunteers were extremely knowledgeable about the events and history at the time this house was occupied in the 1600's and the issues the residents faced on a daily basis. Thank you ladies!!.

It was an incredible time there. Would highly suggest a tour! There were two ladies there that showed us around and gave us the history and uses of everything in the house. They were very friendly and we just didn't want to leave!

Admission is $4/person, $3 for kids 9-12 and free for 8 and under. Ask for the tour which is around 45 minutes-definitely worth it! The tour provided great, interesting information by two very sweet ladies. The kids especially liked hearing how popular sayings came about from this era (e.g., tie the knot, daylight robbery, dead as a doornail.) A great... More

Built sometime in the mid to late 17th century. The house is actually larger than I expected it to be. We were the only 2 people in the house, and one of the two people taking the money asked if we wanted to wait for a tour or just do it ourselves. We chose the DIY option but she ended... More

My Husband (ahhhh!) and I stopped by the Hoxie House this past weekend during our honeymoon! The tour guides were fantastic and hilarious! We learned so much about the local history and common phrases still heard today (like the origin of "It's raining cats and dogs!")!! Don't miss this tour in your trip! It was so worth it!

This is a small but very interesting house. The very knowledgeable people there were able to explain a great deal about how the previous owners lived and explain the purposes of the many artifacts. It would appeal to anyone interested in social history. We found it fascinating!
