Went to this beautiful performing arts center while visiting a friend. We saw C. J. Chanier's band perform in place of Buckwheat Zydeco. We were not disappointed! They were wonderful. Allow a little time before a concert to have a glass of wine on the third floor. It simply is a beautiful venue, and the stage with its wall of... More

Fabulous, unique experience. Some artists perform with the rear drapes open so that you are looking at them and the water, which is sublime experience. I went a few weeks ago and the first half of the show it was open and the second, the window was covered, which created a very intimate venue. TIP: I made a mistake that... More

Attended the performance by Chick Corea Trio. Outstanding performance and acoustics were fantastic. Seats are very comfortable and no seat is a "bad seat". I would recommend to anyone who wants to see a live performance in an outstanding venue for a reasonably-priced ticket. Don't miss out. Check it out.

I went to see Colvin and Earle on Tuesday night. This was the most beautiful performance space I've ever seen. The curtain behind the stage was open (it isn't always. I was told it depends on the artist, as it might effect the acoustics) and the view of the setting sun was magnificent. The concession area was stunning...it would be... More

The performance center is pure magic. The acoustics are perfection. If you arrive before the performance begins you will be treated to breathtaking views of the ocean. Have I confused you? Go and see for yourself....you won't be disappointed.

I have been amazed be so many places in my NYC days. Then I have been lucky enough to see many performances here. The acoustics and the wall of windows on the back of the stage facing the water. the curved wood railings. This place is simply spectacular--even if you just sit there without any performance. A must see treasure... More

There isn't a bad seat in the house... No electronic boosts are necessary to listen to a fiddle/cello duo, for instance, including the in-between narratives. The view out the giant picture window is amazing and the feel is very intimate. Proud to say it's in my town!

The Shalin Liu is a gem!!! The acoustics are fabulous, the ocean view beautiful(when the curtain is not drawn), the volunteer staff delightful, the prices reasonable, and the facility welcoming. Our only suggestions would be that the Shalin Liu should have a coat check instead of just coat racks and we wish that the Town of Rockport would enter the... More

What a gem for everything from Metropolitan Opera HD to jazz to Livingston Taylor to classical quartets. The auditorium is only 12 seats wide with a row of sideways seating along each wall. The wrap about balcony provides great views, too. There are not any bad seats. Save a few bucks and buy the cheap seats. If you sit in the... More
