The site was as expected. A bit less private than we had hoped. Moderate/Average privacy might mean very exposed. We bought 2 bags of firewood ($15 total) and it was very very wet. I spent the whole first night trying to keep our fire going...More

We camped at Balsam in 2016. It was our 1st tenting adventure. We had a small bear wander through our site, and I was impressed at how fast and safe(for the animal) it was handled. The staff were very friendly, and took the rules seriously....More

The park is a clean well run park. We didn't stay overnight but have heard good things about it. The beach is nice but you need to search for shade on warm days. The water is clean and has bouy markers for distance.

Visited during free provincial park day. Visited the beach, quite busy. Rentals for boats. Snack bar. Good campsites and hiking trails. Walked 2 of the trails. Lots of birds, rabbits, deer. Would go again.

While it's not Algonquin, it has enough trees and privacy. The beach is big and gets crowded with young families. You can also rent paddleboards, kayaks, canoes and pedal boat. Even picnic shelter and bike rental! The campsite itself was big and has enough trees...More
