The 19th and early 20th century collection is peerless, in part because the American painters are featured along with the French impressionists and others of the era. If you are in the area and care about art, GO! But remember to bring quarters for the parking meters.

The exhibit from a villa near Pompei is outstanding, and will be at Smith until August 2017. After touring the exhibit, we viewed the regular collection and were very impressed.

I am a bit of an art junkie - so first the positives. Lovely building with lots of natural light - really nice design of a place on 4 levels. Some nice pieces of work from French Impressionists to contemporary photographers. One negative is that you have to pay to get in (in fairness lots of discounts and its only... More

I have lived here for over 30 years but came here for the first time recently. This place is small but world class. Excellent sampling of many of the famous artists. I was shocked- this museum is a hidden treasure that must not be missed!!

We stopped at the museum. Parked on a side street. Received the senior discount and visited the museum. They did an excellent job in selecting the art. We recognized many artist from other sites. it took about 2 hours to visit the museum. Many different items to look at. A not to miss place.

Don't think for a moment that because the museum's name has the word "college" in it that this is something less than a world-class collection of art! I've lived near this museum for over 40 years, and I never cease to be amazed at the depth and breadth of its holdings. While it's sad that they began to charge admission... More
