Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This old gem is hidden in the tiny village of Schönfels, near Zwickau, Saxony. Recently a new part was added to the existing museum: during a restoration process workers found historic evidence of an old kitchen etc.
Within the castle area there is also a restaurant, a chapel if you wish to marry and you can climb the tower to have unblocked views over the village and the landscape.
The entrance fee was around 3 EUR/p.p. which is really ok.

This ancient castle/fortress goes all the way back to the 13th century and is well maintained. A true historical treasure to be visited. A museum is part of the place and interesting to see. However the building itself and walking through it is well worth a visit.

If Medieval Castles your thing that are left almost untouched by the centuries - this is the one for you. It's origins go back to the 12th century and thanks to some archaeological work carried out over the last few years the history of this great place slowly comes to light. They even have a small exhibition explaining how archaeology is done (one of my hobbies).

The staff is very friendly and helpful and because the castle is owned by the wider community (essentially the village) they are in need of every EUR to support the further restoration - so I felt it is well time that someone put this one on the map of other castle mad visitors like me.
