My first trip to this great venue after years of living in MA. I loved the use of the old mill space. Be prepared for quirky as this is contemporary art, but it was very interesting with lots of different mediums used. I think everyone could find something interesting here. Even the bathrooms in the basement are cool!

I try to visit this place once every year, for their variety and uniqueness. This is a must place to visit in the Berkshires. It may take 2-5 hours (I average 3) but every piece is unique, so keep you going.

Our 3rd visit to the Mass MOCA was entertaining as always. You need the map from the front desk as there are so many buildings and exhibits. The Nick Cave exhibit (the artist, not the singer!) was amazing, some of the others less exciting than usual

This is an eclectic collection of art with changing exhibits. Lots of different artists, something for everyone.

I had visiting this museum on my list of things to do for a couple years and was really looking forward to it having seen some wonderful exhibits at other contemporary art museums. I visited every room in the museum and was underwhelmed. Perhaps if the museum administration had more docents around the museum to engage with the visitors and... More

mass moca is huge, filled with contemporary art. the nick cave exhibit was disappointing. i had high expectations, but the volume of STUFF made me shudder. why do we need to promote consumption? i know he is making a point about police brutality and guns, but..... all those beads and garden things, and, more and more. it just made me... I liked it, didn't love it! The good news, the building is a wonderful recycled brick building, the bad news the flow with nooks and crannies was an awkward flow. Some exhibits were wonderful, while many were strange and a bit outrageous. Being an art major in college may have given me knowledge and understanding of the artist's expression, but... More

From huge, warehouse-size installations to smaller pieces, Mass MoCA a great selection of contemporary art, and it's always changing. We spent a couple of fascinating hours there, and came away with plenty of conversation starters. If you like contemporary art, or are just curious about it, go for a couple of hours. I guaranteed you won't be bored!

One of the best museum visits ever! MASS MoCA occupies a complex of factory buildings from the 18th and 19th centuries which I'm told at their height employed up to 6,000 workers. That will give you a sense of the size of this complex. It affords the opportunity to mount very large exhibits. Current exhibits include 3 floors of Sol... More

Nick Cave - Full on color, shining, reflecting, immersive motion, gun motifs almost hidden in swirls. Then, Sol Lewitt, early works subdued , geometric line drawings downstairs to mid career mid level in museum, the solid bright color panels of an artist fully established. Then we got a bit lost in the kitsch mash up of other artists/exhibits upstairs. Back... More
