We saw two plays here at our first visit to Shakespeare & Co., " Two Gentlemen from Verona"and "Or". The Two Gentlemen featured a large cast who in the main did well though the performances were somewhat uneven. The theater is in the round and for this production it was mostly a bare stage with a clever trap door. The... More

Take a short drive or walk from town to this impressive cluster of theaters where you will always find something innovative, well performed and entertaining. There are beautiful outdoor places to sit and have a drink or food: staff and servers are very friendly and accommodating. Performers are great to to brilliant and if you are in the smaller theaters... More

No question there...Go. You'll love the Shakespearean atmosphere. Some of the finest off-Broadway talent! This year, I was even able to see a favorite, much by surprise...Erick Avari. The Bard, there is no other!

Have seen many shows here over the past few years. The Merchant of Venice was one of the best shows I have seen here. The cast was energetic and had the audience laughing and engaged. I was surprised in today's age of political correctness the racism and bigotry were not tamed. The performance was true to Shakespeare. I was very... More

The excellent Shakespeare & Co clearly strives for enjoyable, accessible entertainment. Tina Packer's recent production of 'Merchant of Venice' incorporated dance and music to set off the blatant racism in its nuanced performance. While there was some jestering excess, and not everything worked perfectly, the audience was alive with laughter and applause and the occasional hushed silence of coming face... More

Sotto Voce at the Bernstein theater. In my words, a thought provoking story of a German immigrant writer living in NYC @2000 who lost her Jewish lover aboard the Ill-fated SS St. Louis that was refused entry into Cuba and the US (thanks Cordell Hull) in 1939. Circumstances arise with a young Cuban writing student virtually exploring her relationship to... More

We attended two shows, Two Gentlemen of Verona followed by Merchant of Venice the next night. Both plays were superbly directed with excellent actors. I have seen many Shakespeare place here in the states and even at the Globe in London. These performances ranked with the best. The direction and acting were flawless. The Tina Packer theater is a small... More

While out in the Berkshires on a Friday night, we went on a whim, to Shakespeare in company with the family (2 little ones). We saw Emperor of the Moon. A wonderfully fanciful scripted comedy filled with improv, outdoors under a big tent. The actors were wonderful and seemed to have as much fun as we were. the kids enjoyed... More

I have been to this theater before and it is always a fun experience. We saw the Merchant of Venice. Great acting, costumes, and atmosphere. It is very pretty, little, intimate theater. Plenty of parking. Snacks inside and drinks. Make sure to come early to enjoy the grounds surrounding the theater.
