I have been visiting Crane Beach for about 42 years, ever since I came out to the East Coast for Graduate School. This beach, along with the adjacent Crane Estate, was given as a gift to the communities by the Crane Family who owned the properties during and immediately after the "gilded age". Because of the nature of the gift,... More

Absolutely beautiful day to visit Crane Beach. We had been to the Estate previously and had no idea the beach was so lovely!. Today's sun was 85 degrees, but the water was 43! Looking forward to returning!

Love this beach, always clean, and great utilities. Water warms up nice as the summer warms up. I feel like I am on vacation every weekend. Gets busy but not so crowded that it spoils being there. Awesome beach to walk or just chill. Plenty of room for controlled sports and volleyball often played.

Beautiful white sand beach that is several miles long! Very crowded nea parking lot, but miles of beach to pick from! Dogs and horses are allowed in the off season!

Beautiful beach any season. Very busy during summer, but fun. Fall and spring walks are the best. A real New England gem.

This used to be our favorite stop in the area - but the last two trips have been a bit of a disappointment due to a few things. First, the dogs...we like dogs as much as anyone but not dogs we do not know left to jump on you - there is a sign at the entrance to the beach... More

What a wonderful resource for folks. To my surprise, this beach has people visiting year round. It was a cold January day and we encountered many people walking their dogs and riding their horses. The beach is sprawling and somewhat protected but clean. There are (in season) areas where you can get a snack and keep cool from the summer... More

I've grown up in Ipswich and spent many summers at Crane Beach. It's a gorgeous drive out, and miles of beach span along the shore. The dunes are nicely protected so occasionally you're lucky enough to see some of the wildlife (mainly piping plovers) in there. The bathhouses and snack bar make it easy for families to enjoy a full... More

We were out viewing the fall last month and came across this fantastic spot. One of the most beautiful beaches we've ever been fortunate enough to find. You'll not find many this good no matter where in the world you may roam. More than worth the admission fee.

However hard it is to get there you will not be disappointed. This place has a feeling of calmness and spirituality that just allows you to push back against the frenetic world that the USA is. The views and the blend of gentle colours is so memorable. GO !
