Lots of shops especially gift and antique shops. Go to the Brass Monkey Gift Shop...one of the best in New England. Have dinner or lunch at the Gloucester House. Awesome food.

Mixed collection of old historic buildings and very modern businesses; some great shops, restaurants, and good place to browse the stores and pass some time if you are in town.

We enjoyed walking around this town, including the Main Street. There are several interesting and historic buildings, some of which can be explored internally. The area is clean and felt quite safe.

Nothing spectacular here, but it's clean, and well-kept and fun to just wander about in for the day. The usual variety of shops - gifts, souvenirs, tee shirts. Found a couple of nice antique shops. Very pleasant staff in all of the shops we stopped...More

My cousin lives here, so she took me and my friend on a tour. I loved the old houses and architecture of the buildings. We went into a lot of antique shops, gift shops, boutiques and book stores. I would like to go again.

Find a parking space or one of the metered lots, and stroll. Fascinating collection of stores, services, restaurants, and some remarkable architecture, as well as a large number of galleries and artisan studios.

Plenty to do in Gloucester, great little town. Docks are worth a visit also the Cathedral, pity they are doing work on it, but you can still go in and have a look.
